In a classic case of “if at first you don’t succeed” Ben Akehurst finally won his maiden Table Tennis title on Friday the 16th of March.
After being 7-0 up in our first final in December only to lose to Jack Farrington 11-9 Ben has been on the practice table constantly in an effort to erase that memory and it was a sweet moment for him as he took the title for March with an 11-2 victory against the same opponent.
In a really exciting competition and with a marked increase in the level of play from all 12 competitors it is testament to the work our players put in at lunchtimes and after School to say that any one of at least 6 players could have been the winner. For his part Jack remains the one to beat and this was his fourth final out of four events.
We can’t wait for April!
Don’t forget it’s Badminton this Friday….
