Sunday was the 1st Sunday of Advent, marking the beginning of our preparation and journey towards Christmas. Along The Way we are considering and praying about the greatness of Mary’s “yes” and how, during Advent, we wait like Mary for the coming of Jesus Christ.
Mary was a young Jewish girl who trusted God and said “yes” to His plan for her to be the Mother of God.
Mary is the “New Eve” because through her obedience, salvation was brought to the world, whereas Eve’s disobedience brought sin into the world. Just as Mary waited and prepared for the birth of Jesus, we too are called to wait and prepare our hearts for His coming. We focus on this especially during Advent.
