Staying Safe Online

During this challenging time young people will probably be spending much more time online, on social media and on their phones. It is important that you and your children are aware of the dangers as well as the advantages of online resources and contact.  We take online safety very seriously at St Joseph’s and have provided some useful links below:

    • Internet matters – for support for parents and carers to keep their children safe online
    • London Grid for Learning – for support for parents and carers to keep their children safe online
    • Net-aware – for support for parents and carers from the NSPCC
    • Parent info – for support for parents and carers to keep their children safe online
    • Thinkuknow – for advice from the National Crime Agency to stay safe online
    • UK Safer Internet Centre – advice for parents and carers

Please also encourage them to use any of the reporting facilities on social media or websites if they have any concerns. You can also make a report to www.ceop.police.uk  (Child Exploitation and Online Protection Command) if there are any major concerns or contact Cumbria Police on 111 or www.cumbria.police.uk
