Dear Parents and Families,
I know you will have watched the Prime Minister’s announcement regarding certain year groups coming back in June or July.
What this will look like is uncertain and we are awaiting further advice from the Department for Education, the Diocese and the Local Authority.
During this time, I would ask that you are patient with us as we receive more detailed guidance to ensure that we are able to open at a safe level, should the reopening of schools go ahead as the Government have suggested.
The Governors and staff here at St Joseph’s continue to work to support you and your families.
When we know more clearly what we have to do, we will let you know.
Year 10 students will have lots of questions about next year. I am in many meetings asking questions about GCSE 2021. Year 10 students – you must not worry that when you get back we are going to ‘nag’ you and add pressure. In my opinion, there will have to be changes for GCSE 2021, but at the moment no announcements have been made.
We know that students are working at different rates and we understand the working away from school brings lots of pressure, not just for our students but for our parents too.
We want to reassure you that we are here to support you as best we can. Teachers may telephone you to offer support. If you receive a call, please let us know what we can do to help you further.
I will keep you informed as soon as I know more.
