Tuesday the 21st of September saw the triumphant return of the ever popular primary school festivals to our school site. After what seems like an age it was really good to see so many children taking part in the first of our 15 events for the year.
With 8 schools and over 200 key stage 1 children in attendance a gloriously calm Autumnal afternoon saw the children tackle 10 different multi skill activities designed to test and improve their all-round sporting skills.
The activities were hosted by our year 8 leaders who were so adept at demonstrating their activities and interacting with the children that they received many favourable comments for their efforts from the primary school staff.
Event organiser and Sports Development Officer David Wise was ecstatic about how things had gone; “This festival had been a long time coming and we were blessed to have the weather and great commitment from the schools and their children who were taking part in this sort of activity for the very first time”. “I have to mention our excellent year 8 leaders who made the event so special with their brilliant delivery and fantastic rapport with the children”. “A truly special day and so good to be back delivering festivals”.
This year our activities are coming thick and fast with key stage 1 back on site again in 2 weeks for a football festival quickly followed by a year 5 and 6 Benchball competition.
