DODGEBALL MAINA HITS ST JOSEPH’S SCHOOL!
Our annual inclusive Dodgeball event for key stage 2 children took place on Tuesday the 8th of February 2022 and it turned out to be a day of fantastic skill, teamwork and excitingly nail-biting matches. With 128 pupils taking part the event was the largest of our calendar so far with the excitement and anticipation ramping up by the minute with two teams from Westfield, 1 from St Patrick’s and 1 from Beckstone emerging as semi-finalists from 24 fast paced and skilful group stage matches. From here the drama just increased with anyone of the four teams deserving to win the event. In the end it was a final to end all finals as Beckstone emerged victorious against an equally matched Westfield team.
Our next event is Key Stage 2 Table Tennis on the 22nd of February.

FANTASTIC AFTERNOON OF DODGEBALL FOR KEY STAGE 1 CHILDREN
Tuesday the 18th of January saw 64 key stage 1 children descend onto the sports hall at St Joseph’s School to take part in our annual Dodgeball event. The event is always one of the highlights of our sporting calendar and this year didn’t disappoint as the children treat us to 2 hours of exciting, very skilful and very energetic Dodgeball.
With over 20 matches completed it was left to both Beckstone teams to contest a very lively final with their A team coming through to become champions. With our year 9 sports leaders brilliantly Umpiring each match it was very much a day to remember.
Competition organiser and Sports Development Officer Mr Wise was naturally over the moon with proceedings; “It was so good to see that each School had put the practice in for this competition and the skills on show were amazing”. “These events are such a team effort from our site and reception staff, our PE department and sports leaders to myself so it’s always really good to see things come together successfully”.
