Tuesday 23rd May: Pray for Manchester

The Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

As you enter out school foyer, in large letters is written: “life to the full”. It is sobering to reflect on these words in light of the tragic events in Manchester last night in which so many lost their lives. Sometimes it is these moments of shock that bring home to us the reality of how fragile and precious the gift of life is, and how we never know when our gift may come to an end.

Perhaps today, in light of these events, we can reflect on how we still have our gift of life, and we have the ability to choose to live it to the full, while at least 22 people in Manchester do not.

Let’s pray for those in Manchester who are suffering because of last nights events.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can not overcome it.” – John 1:5

Father in heaven, at times such as these it is hard to see You. But you are there. Please be with those in who are suffering in Manchester. May Your light, the light of love, shine into those dark places and transform them. May your love also shine out in our lives so we can live the gift of life to the full. We make this prayer in Jesus’ name.

Dear Father in heaven,
Thank you for the gift of life you have given us. Thank you for the people you have made us to be. Help us to live our lives to the full.
Open our hearts to receive your love so that we, in return, can show love and respect to everyone in our school community, our families and our friends.
Send us your Holy Spirit so we can achieve excellence in our learning and do our personal best in all areas of school life.
May we always live, love and learn through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Our Lady Queen of Peace pray for us.
St Joseph pray for us

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
