I was born and brought up just down Harrington Road at Douglas Road.
I started my employment as an apprentice draughtsman at Chapel Bank Works and continued my career in engineering to establish West Cumberland Engineering and to also become Construction Director for Shepley Engineers Ltd.
I have continued to be involved in the community of Workington as a magistrate for 20 years, as an active member of the Rotary Club of Workington (working with St Joseph`s School) and as the Chairman of Workington Heritage Group which manages the Helena Thompson Museum
I am passionate about the opportunities for students in the local engineering industries, including Sellafield Ltd, and to make sure that they understand these opportunities and take advantage of them.
I look forward to supporting St Joseph`s in whatever way I can.
