What are the gifts you have been given by God. Spend some time thinking about whether any of them are buried. How could you dig up any buried talents?

Prayer

Dear Father, increase our faith in You, so that we can have the capacity to dream of the great things You have planned for our lives. May our talents never be buried, but used to Your glory. Take away any fear we may have of using our talents or any fear of failing when we give it a go, In Jesus name.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy name;
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of death. Amen.

Our Lady Queen of Peace pray for us.
St Joseph pray for us

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, grant us strength and wisdom to share
our talents in ways that honour and enlighten
all whom we encounter, and all who we knowingly or unknowingly influence.

Help us, Lord, to walk our special paths

that enriches all whom we meet
on our life’s journey.

May our way be bright, safe and joyous!

The theme of this school week is: Talents.

The Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Reflection

We often look to the talents of celebrities on our TV screens as something to aspire to. Maybe we would like to have their talents and be famous like they are. Maybe we kind of copy some of the celebrities, their fashion, their style. Despite way some celebrities use their talents to live a life away from God, if you look carefully there a few inspirational celebrities who use their talents for the glory of God:

Reflection

What are my talents? Talents include being a good listener, being able to organize people, relating well to people, being patient with others and numerous other less-recognized gifts. Our gifts often change during our lives: in our youth our gift may be energy; when we’re older, it is knowledge. We are each one-of-a-kind creations of God with unique contributions to make in this world.

Spend some time thinking about the gifts and talents that God has given you.

Prayer

Lord,
Teach us to remember that everything good that we have is a gift from You. Help us to use the talents you have given us to help other people.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy name;
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;

Scripture

“God doesn’t want us to be shy with his gifts, but bold and loving and sensible.” -2 Timothy 1:7

Reflection

We are often held back from recognizing or sharing our gifts because of a narrow definition of “talent.” We think “talented people” are extraordinary achievers or have easily identifiable gifts, such as musical ability or artistic talent. We must remember that each one of us was created by God and was given the ability to serve God and each other in some way.

Prayer

Father, help us to recognise the gifts and talents you have given each one of us and to be bold and loving in using them. We make this prayer is Jesus’ name. Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy name;
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil. Amen.
