Friday 17th March: St Patrick’s Day

The Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Today is the feast day of St. Patrick, Patron Saint of Ireland, and of our Year 11 tutor group.

The following clip tells us something about the life of St. Patrick and a message it may contain for us.

St. Patrick was often alone and faced many difficulties and obstacles in his mission. This prayer which he composed for his people encouraged them to trust, as he grew to, in God’s care.

May the Strength of God guide us.
May the Power of God preserve us.
May the Wisdom of God instruct us.
May the Hand of God protect us.
May the Way of God direct us.
May the Shield of God defend us.
May the Angels of God guard us.
– against the snares of the Evil One.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of death. Amen.

Our Lady Queen of Peace pray for us.
St Joseph pray for us.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
