After a gloomy forecast the rain held off so we could finally get our SJCHS Sports Development Year 3 and 4 Football Festival underway yesterday. ![]()

Originally cancelled for rain in late March, the eagerly anticipated annual event promised to bring some of Workington's finest young footballers together and they certainly put on a wonderful show of skill with some fantastically contested games, lovely goals and fine teamwork.![]()

The 7 primary schools taking part played the event with great respect for our team of Year 9 Sports Leaders who were in charge of officiating for the day.![]()

Our wildflower areas around school are looking absolutely beautiful. Planted last year, these spaces are now providing important habitats for pollinators such as bees and butterflies, helping to support local biodiversity and bring more colour and life to our school grounds. They also help to improve soil stability and make excellent use of areas that were previously unused.![]()
