We are proud to run Peripatetic music lessons within school. These specialist instrumental or vocal sessions are delivered by visiting music teachers within our school setting. At a Catholic high school, their purpose goes beyond musical instruction—they nurture creativity, discipline, and personal growth in alignment with the school’s values. Students have the opportunity to work through their music grades in their chosen instrument, or they can just learn for fun!

The lessons benefit students by offering tailored, one-on-one or small group tuition that helps develop musical skills, confidence, and self-expression. They support academic achievement by enhancing focus, memory, and coordination, and often reinforce curriculum learning through musical theory and terminology. Additionally, they provide a positive outlet for emotional well being, which is especially valuable in a Catholic environment that prioritizes holistic development and pastoral care.

By engaging in peripatetic music lessons, students also build resilience, teamwork (through ensembles), and a sense of accomplishment.

This year we offer drums and percussion, singing, keyboard and guitar.

If your child is interested in taking an additional music lesson, they should see their music teacher, Mr Clark, Mrs Clark or Mrs Davies for a letter.  This needs to be returned to the school office.

The times of peripatetic music lessons change on a half termly basis. To check when your child’s lesson is please look at the announcements on classcharts.
